About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Northeast Minneapolis, Marino’s Deli is a cherished neighborhood gem that expertly brings classic Italian-American flavors to your plate with warm, genuine hospitality. This beloved deli and restaurant offers a cozy, welcoming atmosphere where the aromas of fresh-baked bread, homemade sauces, and perfectly seasoned meats invite you to savor each bite with delight.

Marino’s menu is a tantalizing celebration of hearty comfort foods and Italian favorites. Their iconic Sub Marino — layered with Genoa salami, cappocollo, provolone, crisp lettuce, tomato, onion, and drizzled with savory Italian dressing — is frequently praised as a definitive deli experience. Those craving heartier fare can delight in rich, slow-simmered Meatballs or the flavorful Italian Sausage Sandwich, each bite bursting with the kind of soulful, satisfying flavors that evoke home-cooked meals. The Beef in Barbecue Sauce Hoagie and The Polish Hoagie offer savory, bold alternatives that keep locals coming back for more.

Don’t miss Marino’s daily hot specials, like their Meatball Dip and Italian Sausage Dip, each served in a sauce boat with optional cheese and peppers that add layers of creamy richness and just the right kick of heat. Their Stuffed Italian Loaf — a masterpiece of Italian sausage, ham, spinach, and melted mozzarella baked in a golden crust — is the kind of indulgence that turns an ordinary lunch into a memorable occasion.

Pizza lovers will appreciate Marino’s 14-inch pies customizable with a generous variety of toppings ranging from classic pepperoni and sausage to unique additions like shrimp and sauerkraut, ensuring every slice satisfies your craving. For a sweet finish, the house-made mini cannoli offer a delicate, creamy contrast to the hearty main dishes.

Beyond in-house dining, Marino’s Deli thoughtfully caters to your busy lifestyle with beautifully arranged deli trays and convenient box lunches, complete with chips, pickles, fresh coleslaw, and a homemade cookie — perfect for office meetings or casual gatherings.

What truly sets Marino’s apart is the authentic care woven into every aspect of the experience. Customer Amy Sitze beautifully captures this sentiment, sharing how the staff went above and beyond to help her after surgery, a genuine kindness rare in today’s fast-paced world. Ethan D praises the unpretentious, no-frills vibe combined with Italian flavors reminiscent of the East Coast, while longtime patron Terry Horstman highlights Marino’s consistent ability to “hit the spot,” making it a lasting treasure in the community.

Whether you’re a local looking for a dependable lunchtime favorite or a visitor eager to experience authentic deli craftsmanship with heart, Marino’s Deli offers a flavorful, welcoming refuge where quality ingredients, time-honored recipes, and heartfelt service come together. It’s a place where every sandwich tells a story and every visit feels like coming home.

I ordered and picked up a lasagna and a quart of sauce for Thanksgiving, and it was absolutely delicious. All our guests loved it, and it made great leftovers. When I picked it up, the woman who was working there helped me carry it to my car because I’m recovering from surgery and using a cane. You can’t get that kind of genuine human care at a big box store. Support this wonderful neighborhood small business!

Local gem tucked away NE Minneapolis. Walked in to friendly , welcoming service despite never having been here before and had an Italian sausage sandwich that could've come from back east. No frills just good food and chill vibes. Will be back .

Nice little deli with $9 sandwiches. The sub Marino is a great choice. Just wish they use reusable cups.

Marino’s Deli is exactly what you hope for in a neighborhood spot. Super welcoming, cozy, and the food was awesome. My go-to is the Sub “Marino”—Genoa salami, cappocollo, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, and Italian dressing. My son went with the spaghetti and meatballs and loved it. The prices are super reasonable, and you can tell they really care about what they’re serving. The

I live so close to Marino’s and tend to take it for granted. Every sandwich I’ve ever had here has hit the spot. The Meatball and the Philly are my favorites. Great place that’s been serving the neighborhood for decades!

I recently for the first time both ate at the deli and used the catering service for my dad’s funeral luncheon. Both were outstanding! Ralph worked with us to determine the appropriate amount of food, the food looked and tasted great and Ralph was a nice guy to have at the event — he made things easy for us. I would strongly recommend using their catering service if you are considering them.

Bomb little spot in NE that I've driven past way too many times without actually diving in. However, that is going to change as their Marino sub I just grabbed for lunch was AMAZING. Perfect portion size with just the right amount of meat (will definitely be asking for hot peppers next week). Think I found my new favorite lunch.

I JUST had the BEST sandwich in town! If you are ever in the area. Stop in and grab a submarino. it’s HANDS down one of the best sandwiches ever. The prices are amazing, from the sandwiches to even the catering menu. Such a great family run restaurant. Keep up the good work!
